+1 what he said ^^^^. If that clutch adjustment is way tight to where it's not allowing the PP to fully release, it could cause slipping and would definitely wear out the TOB sooner than normal. But since this didn't show up until you fell prey to the temptation for my power, then most likely the clutch is tired
Same exact thing happened to me after I started down that slippery slope. Take an old clutch of dubious condition, put another 75 horses or so into the equation, and watch her spin. KEP saved the day and I have been very pleased.
Yes, pull the engine and tranny as a unit. Sooo much easier than trying to monkey around under the car to remove just the tranny. Plus, you can then easily go over the entire engine and find other areas to spend money.
