Removed cam tower and stored lifters in oil with the bore up. Checked them upon reinstall and found two to be soft and six to be rock hard. By soft I mean I can depress the "button" easily with my thumb, and by hard I mean I cannot depress the "button" at all with my thumb.


How should they feel?
Are the soft ones shot or can they be "fixed"?
Should I replace with used or new?
Aftermarket or Porsche?

Anyone who has some experience with this please post.
