You can do a continuity test at the plug to determine if it works or not. There is also a adjustment on it. It should click at the last degree of the throttle closing.

If adjustment is ok and the switch is determined faulty, I have a used one that was only used for testing if you want at a good fellow Pelican price. PM if interested.
