Complexity is why I didn't buy an Ecoboost when we purchased a 2012 F150. With the plan being that we keep this as our family car until at least 100,000 miles, I was very concerned about the longevity of a twin turbo direct injected V6. The complexity of the motor, along with some internet reports of issues, was enough to buy the 5.0 V8 and take the 2 MPG highway hit.
