Now THAT is what I would call a "high end cat". Nothing like a warm tea tray to lounge about on.
I deleted my emissions cat in favor of a flowthrough exhaust, but in the very early days with still the stock muffler I'd installed a cat bypass. That in itself made a world of difference. Of course, we're talking old school cat made in '87 and probably plugged up. Who knows about modern cats, provided you can get one that fits.
Being environmentally minded is a good thing, but....if you don't need one to pass emissions testing, then don't. The cats were fine for controlling emissions at idle and maybe steady throttle cruising to a point, but who were they kidding. When these cars are on boost, the rich emissions would say we should never be allowed to drive these cars.
