Fingerprints won't work. Most depts have to send off to have them compared. Even if they do have internal capability, they'll only do it for felony cases, which, despite our feelings, this is not. Finally, contrary to TV shows, you have to have comparison prints to make a match, i.e., someone's prints have to be on file. No file, no match! There are no magic computers which can ID someone with one or two prints. Sorry.

Oh yeah, I was definitely joking about that. Can't imagine someone dusting for prints for a few hundred dollars of motorcycle damage.
