I haven't used any sealents. With the specific thicknesses of the gaskets, a sealent may change the clearences.

Plus, in many cases, you use more than 1 gasket. Most of the time the gaskets come off pretty cleanly which says to me, there is no sealent. And definitely none between the "double" gaskets.

The only place I have had a leak after a rebuild, was the gasket on the tail shift 6 tranny which was removed and replaced a couple of times, to fix the rear roll pin. And that just took my replacing the gasket with a different one (side shifters don't use this gasket and I have _lots_ of extra ones).
