About a year ago there was a news reporter(American I am pretty sure) who was with the cameraman in a Middle East country. She somehow got separated from the cameraman and she ended up getting raped by some of the locals. Of course there never seem to be any other women in the mob.

Questions that come to my mind are as follows:
1. Can a reporter be armed or else if she uses her weapon she becomes the news?
2. What protocol or procedure does a female news reporter follow in a mob of men?
3. I would think that female news reporters are aware of the risk before they ship out?
To conclude that is not the type of work I would like to see my daughter in but of course it is her choice.
