If any oil gets into the intake from burp over or the turbo it will end up seeping between the blocks. The intake air will continuously push/suck oil into the cylinders so eventually will look clean again.
The phenolic blocks crack with age and can manifest tiny vacuum leaks that are really hard to find. Good to change them out now.
