A/C Fitting

This problem is actually on my '99 Boxster, but it also applies to any late model 911 with A/C. I had to remove the A/C return line (running under the car) and now the rear fitting leaks when I try to pull a vacuum. I replaced the o-ring, but it still leaks.

This is one of those single bolt aluminum fittings with an o-ring. Do I need a fatter o-ring or is the female end of the connector damaged slightly? I figure you 911 guys have run into this before. My '70 911 has the standard dealer installed unit without any of these issues.

Is there any other way to stop the leak?
