Be warned, "the fix" doesn't always "fix" it. I've driven SCs that were almost new that surged. My '82's CC control box was "rebuilt", and still surges. Sometimes there's nothing that can be done; I can't remember ever driving an SC with the CC set, and have consistent speed. Some of the CIS vintage cars are a little smoother than others, but to find one that works as well as a modern car, that would be something.
