The later bellcranks from the Carreras have metal bushings if I recall correctly. But the SC style crank might be better because it's set up for the straight rod you want to use? See the pics below and see how the Carrera style was set up to use a curved rod and therefore the ball end is at a different position. Seems like the SC style is more straightforward?
Just guessing here. When I did a 3.6 swap with a friend we inherited the installation and along with it the "custom" cable arrangement that came with it. Actually he bought Pelican member pbs911's '78 SC targa car off ebay ($17K was a steal) and stripped it of everything 3.6-related to put it in an '88 3.2 Carrera. The 3.2 went back into the '78 SC Targa. Probably a pretty rare case of 3.0>3.6>3.2 conversion on that car, wouldn't you say?
