Yep, he got 5 years for culpable homicide (manslaughter) and another 3 years (suspended for 5 yrs) for negligently discharging a firearm in public. Both sentences will run concurrently.
He has to serve a minimum of 1/6th of the sentence behind bars, i.e. after 10 months he is eligible for correctional supervision aka house arrest.
