Bring the HEAT! May be difficult if the area is surrounded by carpet (flammable) material. But in my experience nothing beats heating the snot out of the offending nut. Apply flame to the nut, not the threads. Although I don't have an acetylene torch, I've had decent luck with a torch using MAPP gas vs. propane.
