The car is being built for Rally-America group 2 class competition. The motor is a 95mm SC 3.0 with oiling mods to cranks and block, Ti retainers, upgraded valve springs, DC60 cams and ARP fasteners. My initial intent was to go EFI with the motor, but after some thought I was interested in the carb / 12 plug dizzy route.
Rally america rules limit fuel to 100 octane, but do allow E85. I have a few buddies who are running E85 in high compression NA motors with good results. One thing to keep in mind is that a rally car here will run 120 stage racing miles at any given event and up to another 150 of transit from stage to stage. This adds up to a lot of race gas.
