I'd unbolt them and remove them with the doors. Realigning the doors later is relatively straight forward. Plus you get to see what's under the plates.

To remove the pins you need a slide hammer and claw to grab to tops of the pins.
This works well if you have to right tool but the tool can be expensive unless you make your own.
