As long as they used their own money and no tax dollars and certainly none of my money, who cares? They own the car, they can do with it as they please. Cars have no "rights" and I have seen more than a few old 911s destroyed by some owner with a vision that is warped.
I saw a 1972 911 here in the city that the owner did a crappy job of sticking on cheap 993 look fiberglass body kit. He even updated that look to fit his vision so it has a huge rear wing and he stuck a Turbo badge on it. The paint is one step above rattle can grade.
It is just a car, and all it did was make my car a little more rare.
