My 951 has the boost coming on at about 3000rpm. The clutch did feel a bit stiffer than a regular 944, but not hughly different. 3rd gear on a stock one from about 2500 and moving at 35mph is a real rush. 4th will do about the same but you rapidly will start either a)running out of room where I drive enthusiastically or b) will be seriously infringing on the speed limits.
If everything looks kosher, get the 951, you'll never regret it. Just don't get a ticket or you will have a very nice piece of German sculpture in your garage for several years.
