I was on the other side of this once. I was following a boxter in my other car, a 1985 mazda 626. We happened to be going in the same direction. He tried to take a right turn quickly to lose me. We both broke at the last second, I heel-toed from 3rd to 2nd and followed him right through, hitting the apex and powering out. In the boxter he could have taken the turn 20 mph faster, it's all the driver. However I know my little mazda and wouldn't have followed if he had been going twenty over. It would be a different matter if I was in my 930 at the time.
