Why, because if there was some crud I didn't see or an o-ring out of place on the oil cooler, a hoze leaking on the AOS or the new RMS or IMS is leaking it sure would be nice to fix it before putting the tranny back on.
Perhaps some can do it in 5 minutes but the bolt on top is difficult to get at not to mention the hydraulic cylinder. I'll bet it takes me an hour or more each way.
Personally IMO I can't imagine it would create a problem with the transmission jack holding the engine back in its normal operating position .
