My Christmas Rant to Porsche..

Ugg two things weighing on my mind as a life long Porschephile are as follows..

#1 Families or their lack of compatibility with the porsche mark..

These were never designed to be family cars like the current porsche model line up.. Or Volkswagen AGs relentless persuit of $$$$ by badging its SUVs volkswagen, porsche, lamborghini, bentely. These are ALL based on the SAME volkswagen chassis..

Years back a young successful gentleman would walk into a porsche dealership with a attractive young lady order his $65,000 sports car several months later would collect it with a different attractive younger lady..

Life’s winners and players were attracted to porsche in the 70s, 80s now.. It’s family folks.. Even the guys buying GT,2,3 are married with kids..

I guess lamborghini has taken that market away from porsche. The young, The successful, The selfish bliss..

Just not the indulgent hedonistic wealthy customer anymore.. This greatly affects Porsche image and mystique.. Those seen driving them..

Porsche needs to stop engineering cars around families..

#2 Electricity.. I don’t even need to speak of what this will do to mark as a whole..

I only need to draw a reference to Rolex.. Rolex resisted the need to switch to electronic movements when timex came along.. Yes the timex is 10XS more accurate and it doesn’t require $750 dollar service every 5 years also doesn’t cost $18,000 to $50,000..

However look at Rolex standing in the market of luxury items developing old outdated mechanical watches..

Porsche take note of who your true life long customers are.. They aren’t the family’s trying to keep up with the neighbors.. They aren’t the tampax wearing types that need a accessory to their hand bag..

They are and always have been the successful, largely single and male in sex..

They are also willing to pay much much more than current MSRPs for the porsche of old, the golden era when porsche was a exclusive club of finely handmade sports cars.

I full well believe that porsche could start MSRPs in the $200,000 range up to $500,000 and cut production by some 70% and still be wildly successful without whoring the way they are now..

When one considers the absolute criteria a porsche must meet in order to be a porsche surely a family car is not one of them.

In closing I propose a toast, to the porsche of old school. Which built the finest sports cars the world over without ANY regard for political or environmental correctness.

The golden years.

Without those family sedans and suv’s Porsche would have probably been long gone!!!! Also thanks to the “sedans and suv’s” Porsche is able to offer us old schoolers Porsche Classic. Electric on the other hand is not my cup of tea but it may just be the future.

So you're saying that back in the day, only douchebags, man-babies, and men(?) with diminutive genitalia wanted to buy Porsches (aka - the Donald Trumps of the world)!?!?

Everyone is entitled to their opinion. I respect anyone with guts to state that opinion. If you dissect all stated there are some interesting thoughts/theories? Must admit... the angry replies are quite entertaining. Merry Christmas!

Maybe the same lump of coal Porsche uses to power their new electric cars?

Hahaha. You’re such a knucklehead.
Cheers. Now stop with the nonsense and go wax your 930 again.

Guess you should have made an honest woman out of one of those girls and you would get it. My family, in particular my daughters, are my world. In the end people are all that matter and the memories you leave are far more valuable than any cash inheritance. My next Porsche purchase will be a water pumping convertible so that I can drive around with the top down and my kids in the back, showing them my love of cars and driving. Sucks to be Scrooge.
