Can we have anything like micro/mini aircooled VW cam sync sensor
Mini Cam Sync

I dont like the idea of converting the original distributor for cam sync and these should be smaller too

Rasant has a cam sync replacement for the distributor hole.

Its a nice solution but I already have a working VR sensor and it seems it's sold only as a kit for both crank/cam.
I will give my cherry one more try and I now managed to get it more secure on the pump housing but need to check the optimal position so that its nicely before crank trigger. The air pump wheel goes on two positions and the other trggers right before TDC and must be the worse one. Will try the other way tomorrow and possibly even tap another position for optimal phasing.

It would be easy to reversibly modify the stock distributor for a cam signal. Use a Crane optical sensor and block off 5 of the 6 windows. The bracket can mount on the external perimeter holes used to fix the stock magnetic coil. I ran my old EFI track car this way for years.
Or Doesn't a 2.7 distributor fit the 930 case. Get a spare and modify it. Just need to come up with a cover for the top if you don't want an empty distributor cap on there.

That is one option too. How about right side cam end where I have my second oil filter? There is a pressed in cap but could it be used with Clewett or any other cam end sensor kit? Cant remember if that side had those three bolt holes?
Anyway I managed to secure my cherry now firmly and drilled a new hole with optimum phasing just before crank trigger so hopefully I now have a solid cam signal for FULL sequential as I'm trying 12 denso COPs. DO you know if I can mix denso xxxx39 with xxx34 units? 6 and 6.
