SOLVED: Key ACC position, no gauges work, cranks does not start

1987 930 Turbo: NEWBIE here.

Car started drove yesterday just fine.
Do not have owner's manual, UNknown if there is immobilizer.

When attempting to start, key to ACC position, no gauges or lights on dashboard come on, the power windows do not work.
When key to on position, car cranks but does not start.

Could I have tripped immobilizer somehow?
Battery is charging, but was at 12.1 Volts.
have not checked spark yet.

WHY would gauges, dash lights, windows, etc, NOT work when key in ACC position?
headlights work. AC will work WHEN cranking but not in ACC position.

Could be a dozen reasons why won't start. First verify as you suggest , spark. Pull one easy to get to plug. There is a sticky thread on No start issues - top of page. But there is a complex set of relays etc that have to work for the car to start. May be a process of starting at one end and following thru. Read the sticky first.
I dont think the gauges should work on ACC.

I will look over sticky thread. NOW will not even crank, therefore, cannot check spark.
Somehow I think it's due to anti-theft device. Driver door, side has a key component that i believe supposed to activate horn, lights like an alarm. I have the "special" key and have toggled it CW and CCW but no start. I swapped batteries just in case with another vehicle and still no start.
Thinking could be anti-theft device, ignition switch, DME relay. no idea how I got the windows to work, but still no idiot lights on dashboard light up.

Starting to sound like you may be on right track - in which case, I am no help. There will be others who have experience of that stuff. I have seen stuff like that posted before.
You could try posting that on the 911 Tech forum too - not likely a 930 specific issue, whatever. Doesn't sound like one. That site gets a lot (more) of traffic.
If you manage to eliminate the anti theft option, then maybe re post back on 930 forum.

does the anti theft stop it from cranking or just turn off the FP.

is it after market.
the aftermarket ones usually tie into the starter, which is VERY bad.

make sure the battery connections are clean, yes i know, no lights but was cranking. but still. start with the basics. also put a meter on the battery when cranking to see what the volts drop to. should be greater than 10v. or have the battery tested. best option.

could just be bad ignition SW. but do tests first

the anti-theft device does not prevent the starter from turning, the starter rotates.

This is stock/factory anti-theft device. Thank you for clarifying will not stop from cranking.
There was corrosion on Ground connectors, removed and cleaned.
I put meter on batter when cranking and went from 12.9 to 12.8V, figured would be larger drop.
I went under dashboard and verified all wires to ignition switch in place. Above Ignition Switch were two relays, one did not appear to be pushed in all the way. I pushed in.
GOT the 930 to Crank and START! Could have been loose connector or relay but I may order an ignition switch just in case. THANK YOU EVERYONE.
