Speedometer quandary

Took my 81-930 out for spin for the first time in many years. The speedometer stopped working. I am getting a pulse signal from one of the brown/red wires at the speedometer.
I’ve done a lot of reading but can’t seem to find the correct answer. Should there be a pulse from both wires and what is the correct connection at the speedometer.
Some say Red, blank, Br/R signal, Br/R and Br or R, blank, BrR and BrR, Br

Is everything else working, lights? Might be the electrical part of your ignition switch, try wiggling the key when driving.

I am not absolutely sure but for my '79SC speedometer the correct wiring should be as shown here:

Some parts in the speedometer failed. Got it repaired and I’m back in business trying to “test” its operating range.
