Exhaust Mod E-cutout
When I first got my exhaust it only had a single out pipe.
![]() But my bumper had dual cut outs ( 965 style) so I had a fake pipe welded on. ![]() Then after a while I thought it be nice to open up the fake side. Well I did and it was nice but to loud sometimes. Like driving through the neighborhood at night. So I found this valve called a E-CUTOUT ( http://www.dmhperformance.com/ecutout.htm ). This is the coolest thing ever. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

wow thats funny...
a month or two ago i posted on the 911 tech forum about fabricating something like that for my twin exhaust. So at the flick of a switch i could have it noisy or quiet. People however said that it'd mess with the mixture... how do u find it?

Seems to run about the same open or shut. Pops more with it open on decelerating. I think it just that I can hear it more. Sounds and works really good.

Can you wire it so that it opens automatically on boost?

One thing that is strange, with the valve open exhaust coming out of the right side seems to be cold and left side is always hot. I'm a little confused with this. Anyone have a explanation.

There is a company called ATP (www.vwturbo.com) that sells a similar exhaust bypass valve that is controlled via boost. They call it their VES valve Works very well for what it is. Hook up a simple vacuum shutoff valve if you want to disable it at anytime....or just retrofit the above model with a wastegate actuator...or just adapt an adjustable hobbs boost switch to the above model. Lots of boost-controlled options ![]()

Pretty neat valve though. When you go EFI, maybe you can add some fuel when the valve is open.

The electric controlled valve is WAY Cool! I can see spending the $ for that item on my muffler!
