RUF Input Shaft
The input shaft in my RUF 5 speed is bent after an accident. Does anyone know if it is a custom RUF part, or is it a Porsche 930 stock part? Any info would be much appreciated.

OOOOUCH! I believe it may be as the stock trans in the car is a 4 speed and that is one of the points that Ruf modified. If it is indeed and you find a distributer that carries them, let me know how much because I want to convert my car someday.

Julian, why not take it, or send it to someone that rebuilds 930 boxes. They may even have one apart that they could compare it to.
Easier still take some pics of it beside a tape measure or ruler...

Thanks guys.
The tranny has not been taken apart yet, measured with dial indicator shows its bent. Next step is to take it apart and really inspect the rest of the internals. I'm hoping its a stock shaft!!!

One of the manuals I have mentions checking the runout & straightening a 915 shaft if needed. Maybe yours could be straightened & then hardened or treated afterwards ? I would give Guard transmission a call.

Julian, I was perusing Bruce Anderson's book(yet again) and there is picture (pg 231) of the RUF 5spd showing the major components which are different. Both the input and pinion shaft are longer

Mike, have that picture it looks longer as you said.
David, Yes, I called RUF last week, they were going to contact Germany,still waiting for a reply.
