934 Project Update #2
Stripped, Cooked, and Dipped! Clean slate to start build with. The other nice thing about stripping the car all the way down is that you can find any previous damage to the car and make sure it has been repaired properly. The car will now receive seam welding and a complete custom cage by Chad Ernst of Fat Cat Fabrications. The stripping was done by Carolina Chem Strip of S.C., Inc. located in Fountain Inn, SC. Dave Ellington and his guys did a great job and it only took 24 hours to complete.

Thanks, I have heard how difficult it is to remove the coating prior to welding. I have had experience with these types of coatings and they are not fun to remove.

I am jealous.
I would love to have a 911 unibody stripped down and ready to build. One day I'll convince my wife that I need two 30 year old Porsches instead of one. My goal is to do a 74 RSR and paint the interior red. Put a 3.6 N/A in it. Good times! Keep us updated on your project. |

Here are some pics of a 934 replica, this car was built on a 78 tub with original 934 parts from a crashed 934 race car. My car will have a similar stance with the 18" wheels.

Factory used V-belt setup, not the new improved serpentine type. Everything else, though, looks like it came from the factory.

crankshaft
The crankshaft is a special one that has reduced rod journal diameters. This was done for a higher rev capability. It was aslo crossed drilled and we machine a special center main bearing to feed the numbers 2 and 5 rod more oil.
