That would look nice - our car could really use something dark in the wheels - the shiny bits are....really bright ;-)
|
Thanks Nine17, I'll give them a shout. I saw the rest of Matt's collection, didn't see this one though, the 935's were out and about during my visit. That is one beautiful car you posted.

Any updates ? your fans are waiting ;)

Nothing much to report, the shop is getting the brakes zinc coated and calipers powder coated (hubs also getting zinc treatment) and they installed the Brey Krause B pillar brace system:
I have since decided to install a rear roll hoop and when the car gets to Zuffenhaus in the next few weeks i'll have more updates. Brake Fitment prior to disassembly and coating: http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1236178419.jpg http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1236178455.jpg http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1236178498.jpg BK B Pillar Brace System http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1236178532.jpg http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1236178555.jpg |

Where are you guys finding the body parts? (fenders, wheels, etc...)
|
I got all my stuff from AIR for the 1975 RSR.
|
John Bishop at AIR in So Cal is great for bodywork.Good company .. for 935K3 stuff I have the only complete set of molds that I know of in North America
|

Hey Gabe,, I'd consider a full cage.. I LOVE watching my date climb in and out of mine (Britney Spears style if you know what I mean ):D
Good move on the roll hoop, it adds a sense of "meanness" like you need it LOL |
Todd - oh don't worry buddy - there will be door bars just high enough to ensure pleanty of 'viewing' opportunity :) I need protection when I run the carbon/fiberglass doors.
|
Have you seen anybody putting foam on the 911 composite doors. I have only seen a couple of cars come back into the paddock (Sebring) with damage in that area but, the foam would work provide protection.
What about you Van? |
|
Those are pretty sexy man - I'll post up when the carbon doors get installed, should look something like a cross between those and the original doors.

Leavin' Cali...
On the way to Zuffenhaus!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

GDamn, that wing is outrageous!
|
Why's it going to Zuffenhaus? I understand they're finest Porsche craftsmen, their work lines my masterbatorium, but your car is already built, you not happy with a few things? Car is lookin brutal!
|
The boys at Zuffenhaus have a few things to tweek...nothing major though. Mainly working on the wing setup.
|
I love the shot with the rear tire setting on the ramp behind the car, it looks like it's two feet wide. I can't wait to see that car driven in anger!
|
Hotdiggity! The game is ON like Donkey Kong! Righteous broham _right_eous_!
I esp. love the dichotomy of The Prince of Darknesses' personal Spaceship on top of Donald Duck's Sunday picnic mobile below. Priceless. I've got similar pics of my bud's orange GT3RS under his green '47 MGTC on the lift below, but they're stuck on my smell phone (long story). Zuffenhaus here it comes - and - ***more importantly*** - HERE WE COME! Yeah baby yeah! Keep up the good werk. You can almost taste it I bet. Awesome. |

Finally!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
WOW... it was almost too wide for the hauler. We'll be waiting for it in CLT. When it gets here I'll test drive it for you and let you know how she feels, OK?............ :-) |
This is so exciting!!! one step closer!! I just can't wait till June to see this beast in the flesh!!
Gabe, if that thing had been much wider it would not have made in on that hauler!! BADASS!!!!!!!!! |

Nonsense!!?? We call that Bravado! |
when i say nonsense i am just kidding around!! most of everything that comes out of my mouth is nonsense!!
Gabe.. .sorry here i go hijacking your thread with true nonsense!! hahaha |
Brad - no worries man, just glad you can make the track day! This thread is the virtual water cooler/coffee pot we all hang around at inbetween progress updates :D
Miguel - yeah man, the trailer will never feel the same after having the Blackbird in there :D Paul/Brian - Haha you guys crack me up, as soon as I saw the pics I was like, wow, now there's two ends of the spectrum. Its just so strange to see her next to other cars. MichiganMat: Why thank you very much! |
AMAZING!
And SO glad you smoothed out the front fenders. The flatnose with the pop ups in place on page 1 looks so wrong. |
Man, that car looks so right! I wonder if you are sure with the rear spoiler verticals... They look different I admit, but I didn't figure it out what woud be the point, especially now when your car is so no-nonsense hardcore piece with beautiful parts. They doesn't really spoil my enthusiastic enjoyment of seeing pics of your gorgeous car :D.
|
The end plates on the wing according to some aero guys (lost the name of the guy who came up with the calculation) will effectively increase the amount of downforce on the rear.
However that being said, the wing setup is going to change and that's one reason its going to Zuffenhaus in NC, the guys at Valley European in Cali did a great job but I want Aaron to look at a few things and make a few changes. Stay tuned - its not over yet... |
