Who has got a swap?
Well I kind dreaded posting this since its my first post and I dont to get flamed but...I was wondering who else has a non Porsche motor in their 911 to have boost? I have a street port 13b turbo out of an FC RX7 that I got out in TX. I know of some Subaru swaps as well but I just wanted to see them in pictures.
Heres my targa: ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Thanks! Jay

Hehe well there isnt much room for anything else and with a streetport rotary anything to quiet it down is great. Its runs amazing right now and the gearing is perfect. The shifting is a little sloppy but I'm getting used to it. Boost at 9k rpms is crazy in one of these cars!

Ducktail is on the list, and yes its a Garrett water to air I/C on the top left by the intake.

JayG- That-a boy.
I bet that thing is a blast to drive when winding it out to 9 Grand. I havent heard of any subaru motors in these cars (I hate Sub. motors). But I have seen someone run a nasty 4G63 Eclipse motor (best motor) in an old school 911.

Hi,
WoW, Interesting motor! How does it sound compared to a 911?

We used to do a lot of VW tube frame based race cars, with transplanted 13b's, back in the early 80's. The Mazda engines flat out scream, and these were just n/a engines that we machined to accept Weber 48IDA carbs. I can only image the power you make from that turbo. Probably improves the weight distribution a bit also in the 911.
That Targa is more of a sleeper than my car. Pat

JayG- I had GVR-4 with about 300 horse for a daily driver. What a hell of a car.
It would never anger me that you swapped the motor. The porsche engine is downright to damned expensive for no reason and makes no power untill you drop a lot of coin. I just dont like the V8 swaps to me it = ignorance. I bet your rotary is lighter than our motors therefor improving the handling.

Yeah V8 just doesnt make sense to me either. The rotary is about the smallest lightest engine that makes decent power. Also where its mounted helps out a ton. I'm gaining more andmore confidence with the handling every time I take it out.

I'm thinking with the weight change you had to re-adjust the suspension because of Positive camber?

Awesome! But what I said was it wouldnt make sense for me as in what I do with the car. I autocross and hit the mountains. That would be pretty sweet on a big road course and a 1/4 mile though.
