I need a recommendation for a good race/DE seat
I'm installing a half cage and I will have 5/6 point belts for the car, but I need one piece race seats to fit as well.
I will be using the car about 60% street and 40% for track/DE, but I won't be needing fold-forward types. I'm looking for a comfortable single shell unit. I'm considering the Recaro Pole Position and iA carries a GT3 type seat, but I'm not sure a modern 997 type seat would look right in a 930. I'm trying to stay under $1500 for both seats. TIA. |

I really like the pole positions that I put in my 930. Much more secure hold that the SRDs that I used to have in it.

I felt really comfortable in my Sparco Evo 2 seats. They don't look very Porsche though.

I am 5'9" and 180lbs (last season I was about 25lbs heavier). Fit fine very comfortable. I drove the car on numerous long distance trips. Only issue is its hard to look over your shoulder when parking or pulling out of a parking space. You'll find this with any shell though.

Of all the seats I've been in, the PP's were the best. They're on my purchase list along with a roll bar.

The other nice thing about the PPs is that they have a very clean look. No odd ball grippy material patches or fancy model names stictched across them. Very classy look for a 911 that sees a bunch of street use. You really should try and find a seat to sit in before committing. Not sure where you are but in my area I ran up to a shop called NorthStar and was able to sit in 3 or 4 different seats to figure out what worked best for my needs and frame size.

I thought the PP fit my 6'3" size well, although I'm pretty thin and short bodied. I do have wide hips though and the PP didn't crush me like just about all the others. I would certainly try them on before buying.

I have a set (two) of Momo's Top Nascar seat... They are made for bigger ( taller and wider) people. They were the top of Momo's seat line a few years ago. They are the Carbon/Kevlar version as well..and only weigh a few lbs a seat.... without the brackets, you can pick them up with one finger. I am not going to be tracking my car anymore...and am thinking about selling the pair. They have all of the slots for the 5 pt harnesses. They were 899 bucks a seat when I purchased them a few years back..... I probably wont want but about 700 bucks for the pair if interested....

HUGE bang for the buck is a Sparco Sprint - TOP support, decent cost - what I have.
http://www.speedwaremotorsports.com/index.asp?PageAction=VIEWPROD&ProdID=6985 Picture looks totally goofy, but it isn't *They can be bolted directly to the slider, no extra side mount BS or cost* Adds extra head/helmet room ![]() Just the drivers' side (old pic) ![]() Why buy anything else more expensive??

Sparco EVO or REV seats are great for the driver. Get a cheap Sparco for the passenger.....they make a budget seat about $250.00 for this. Great name brand excellent quality seat. Trying to get them on the slow boat from Italy becomes a PITA.

Pretty comfy, but I could feel the bar in the butt area after a few hour drive.
The support is absolutely superb for track use while still usable for the street -

I'm a big fan of Sparco - I couldn't find a better track seat.... pic is from my former IT-E mustang (sold in 2006).

Hmm guess I'm the first to mention RaceTech in the line up??? I love those seats like no other. I'm actually building a BMWCCA prep M3 now for my buddy and he just bought a new RT4009WHR. Super nice seat. THR model is offered for us really tall folks as well.
