What brand wastegate is this?
I bought this used WG along with some other used turbo parts on Ebay about six months ago cos it looked like it might come in handy one day (and it was cheap).
What brand is it? What boost is the yellow spring? Is it better than the stock WG? I'm rebuilding my '86 930 at present and may fit this one if there is some advantage besides the obvious weight saving! Bill ![]() ![]() |

Hey, this looks like a wastegate from ssautochrome and the yellow spring will put out 0,6-0,7bar of boost:
http://www.ssautochrome.com/level.itml/icOid/1544 scroll down and you will find it, its the 46mm. It is a good replacement for the expensive original part. Last edited by gogomobil; 04-27-2008 at 02:55 AM.. |

Yeah looks like the one mentioned above,i have this fitted to my car(c2 turbo) and it works perfect, also fitted it to a friends car i do work on and same result on his!!..Fitted a tial spring in them both though(perfect replacement) to acheive correct boost setting.
Recommend this wastegate to anyone, there may be other versions on the market that aint that good but this one is more than up to the job,it has now been proven by me and others now. |

I have one of those too. Seems good quality for the $79 it cost.
Mine came with a blue spring and a yellow spring, and the Tial springs fit too. I havn't tried it yet because the factory one with a 1 bar spring is working fine. It also came with a very nice polished stainless steel exhaust pipe for the wastegate with gaskets and stainless hardware. I've seen some people charge around $80 for just one of the pipes, and they did not appear as nicely tig welded or polished as the one that came with this wastegate. This pic is from the website that seells them. ![]() |

some of the knockoff stuff from overseas is total ****e but for the money, that wastegate is the ticket! l remember the turbo market 20 years ago, heck even 5 years ago and it is damn cheap to turbo a vehicle now. ln the past building a balanced turbo system was not nearly as easy as it is today and you can now easily sell your inferior parts to fund the right stuff. progress
