1974 Paris Auto Show 930 - pics...
...more to follow as me f'n camera battery f'd the pooch as I was uploading them here and me charger's @ home. Will do later tonightski butofcourse.
Don't ask questions. Car *IS* in CT, and is owned by someone in the Northwestern corner (think $$$ district in the wickedwoods - where it doesn't want to be found). Promise more this evening, including the full RHD Tartan interior 8-). This was _truly_ a mind bending moment to behold - to be in the Presence of Greatness... What's with the whole "Don't ask questions" stuff? I dont want to sound rude and ungrateful but is this car really that special? It was a display car turned into a working car by a shop in Melbourne Australia.... I dont get the whole 'Presence of Greatness.' Porsche never intended this car to actually run. Sure it's a beautiful car and I love the pics you've posted but I think there's been many just as special or more special cars to grace this forum without the cloud of mystery.
![]() ![]() Maybe it just takes someting like this to 'bend my mind'. ![]() ![]() ![]()

Wow - sorry to underwhelm you. Me, I found it to be significant to see touch smell THE *first* one ever created - the one which started the insanity. I thought others might enjoy it, that's all.
Regarding the "cloud of mystery"... well there isn't any really. I just didn't want to tee off anyone associated with the car, where it's at, etc., as it's not like I was invited to see the car and post pics / stories of it all over the net. That's all, nothing more. I really enjoyed seeing it, hopefully others do as well. I've seen 935s thanks. There's only 1 "first" 930, regardless of whether it "was meant to run". When I'd read about it in "Excellence Was Expected" I never for a second dreamed I'd one day reach out and touch the thing and voila there it was soon after. Go figure. Apologies, I guess. To each their own ![]() |

Paul I apologise, posting pics on a forum then saying dont ask questions pissed me off. I assumed it was your or a friend's car.
I look forward to the other shots as I enjoyed the ones you posted, I did say this in my post. Anyway sorry for blurting that out.

While I have to agree with the K3 being the schiznit, I find the silver turbo to be quite enticing...please post more pics and the interior

Nope, not mine (certainly!), and no one I know. I was trying to be sensitive to its whereabouts as I appreciated being able to be there, see it, and snap some shots w/o any questions asked - that's all. I know nothing more than it was purchased from London after being campaigned (I was surprised to hear it was run as such!), I heard a 'rumor' of the purchase price from another source (many zeros and commas), and now know the town in which it resides. A town typical of NYC playboys and Hollywood hideouts up and around Lime Rock area. Idiot boy here DID charge his camera - but left his laptop @ work last night, then, promptly left the f'n camera @ home today. Dumabss. ![]() I'll post up the rest of the pics tonight hopefully. It's an awesome sight, I love the brilliant silver (seems very metallic) with the white graphics, and the deeeeeep dish polished Fuchs with white accents are off the hook! Green Tartan interior, including matching RSR-style door cards, pretty neat. |

Hey Nathan- I posted them up in a separate thread Paris Auto Show '74 930 - more pics finally uploaded - sorry for the confusion. There's some good ones there. Man that is a fine machine, and such a cool thing to have before you! Hope you enjoy them! Last edited by krasuskyp; 04-30-2008 at 12:00 PM.. |

car was a RSR originally with a sunroof ! then it was converted into the paris show car with wooden engine parts as the concept turbo. Ended up in Oz, with Graham (forgot his last name) but then Matt Stoupas (Weltmeister Service in Richmond) ended up with it for a while , tracked it a bit, then resold
there is a fairly decently detailed article in a porsche mag about this unusual car pretty cool, but not as exciting as a 935 ![]()
