P&c

I am selling a set of P&C for a 78-89 3.3 930 (911 turbo) at No Reserve. Somebody is getting an early Christmas present as I am almost giving them away.

Looks like somebody might get a good deal.

Good luck with the sale.

Are they new, or used? Add does not specify.

It's obvious from looking at those they are not new, but it's not said they are anyway.
Those cylinders have been rehoned and cut for a steel sealing ring so the cylinder heads that go on them need to have a matching groove cut too, and it appears an exhaust valve relief has been cut into the piston crowns.

The skirts of the pistons have been positioned in the picture so you can't really see the scuff wear area.

It may be coincidence but this P&C set sounds alot like a set refurbished by JB Racing that I know of from a silver slantnose 930 in S. Fl that has an Alabama connection.

Good luck on the sale... anyone interested should know the clearances on these pistons and cylinders and ring lands, and that they are not new and are cut for steel sealing rings so the heads need to be cut too.

They came with a 930 I bought back during the summer out of Nashville. They are currently sitting in the original Mahle box but have been redone. I can take some pictures of the sides and back of the pistons if you like, just let me know.

I am going to sell my 78 turbo also in a week or two. This is an old pictures of it before I put the black rubber whaletail back on it.

If I can answer any questions about the P&C let me know.

What does redone mean? Just throwing a ball hone in and scratching things up, or something a bit more involved - like boring oversized with appropriate pistons included? Is everything used, including the rings and wrist pins?

Honed the cylinders with specialty equipment for whatever they are made of nickel something, not with a regular hone. Cut reliefs into the exhaust side of the pistons to prohibit valve contact for a high lift cam or mis-shift. New rings, fully balanced the pistons, reconditioned the pin bores but same pins.
