picked up my powder coating
fresh out of the oven.... Guy did a nice job, 10 day turnaround and VERY reasonably priced. Does ceramic jet-hot style coatings on headers and engine components and as well.

Stuff looks great. what did he do with the edge`s of the fan blades? I know some people were having isues with the powdercoating being to thick on the end`s of the blades and they would rub on the fan housing.

they were taped off, no clearance issues at all. He also masked the backside of the valve covers. Altogether very clean.

coked oil in the spray bars toasted two rockers and cam have provided the perfect opportunity for adding the twin plug heads that've been sitting on the kitchen counter since 2005...

Tim, technically the motor is together... It's gonna be hot looking with the powder coating. Realistically just got my Electromotive coil packs from being spec'd out, have to pull the oil tank (had a coke clogged spray bar which brought me to this point), install the LM1 and re-tune (probably the most tedious of the tasks...) All in time for swimming pool construction season right!

Good color combo. After looking at many here, I decided that the silver on black is one of the best, so I did mine like that. I used gold for the pulley.

Yeah, been building since the late 80's. Had a couple sunny 60 degree days and the phones been ringing pretty good. Pretty sure those 500 pool summers are a thing of the past, demographics are shifting up here in the North East. Need it to hit 90 for about a week...

Bought a hot powder coating kit from eastwood.
Works very well. Done many parts on my engine while rebuilding. Fan, fan housing, valve covers, engine tin, intake manifold, front a-arms, spring plates, rear brake rotor shrouds while replacing rear wheel bearings + other small parts Really pleased with the kit.

That's great to hear totle. I just purchased a used EW pro-Coat gun on ebay and I'm modding a 120V oven from single to twin burner and expanding the oven to 32X32X52 that way I can do everthing including the metal trim for the glass trim.
I had to take apart and clean the gun. Also put a few drops of kroil in the pressure swith. I could have just bypassed the swtich but its a good safety feature. |
