Chris T (356-930)

I needed to waste some time this evening so I went by a bookstore and picked out a few magazines to look through. I started to go through the February edition of "911 and Porsche World", and low and behold, I came upon a six page spread of our very own Chris' (356-930) 930 powered 356! Way to go, Chris! I really enjoyed reading the article! And congratulations on another, I believe, spread on your awesome ride!

Geoff

Bad news

Yep, Chris sold his car. He is a friend and I know he was sad to see it go. I was at the auction in Monterey during the Historic races when it went up for sale. He gave me a full access pass to see when it happened.

Chris lurks on the boards still but rarely posts anymore. Maybe he will purchase another P-car and we can all benefit from him wisdom that he has acquired from hard work and research.

Best of luck Chris!

Many Regards,
Bryan

He was a very nice guy and very knowledgeable.
Quick to share info with me when I had some questions a while back.

You gottra admit it was a pretty radical move to jam a turbo engine in a 356 body.

Oh that sucks! I hope it wasn't a forced sake and he got good money for it.

It is an awesome car!

Let's change that to "is". I can't count the amount of insight Chris has given me, even after selling his fine ride. He still lurks out there, but it's gotta be kinda hard to get real enthused without a set of Porsche wheels under you! I don't think there is a conventional bone in his body...always one to challenge conventional thinking. Those are the kind of people that are of great value to this forum.

Thanks Chris for all your contributions.

Re: The 356-930

Chris here. Yes, I still lurk on the 930 forum. Many thanks for the generous and kind words written about both the little car and me personally.
I did not want to sell the vehicle but a neurological issue made working on it impractical and driving it impossible. Kinda took the fun out of owning it. After 31-years of ownership, it was time for a new caretaker.
I was fortunate at auction and sold it for what I consider a fair price. Hot rods are not known as even marginal investments and in the end, I came close to breaking even. And, the fun I had building and driving it . . . .
The buyer came from Dallas, TX and I presume he and the vehicle are still there.

Yes, the car is in Dallas and was at Cars and Coffee yesterday where I saw it. VERY nice work as it was getting a lot of attention!
