help with short 930 tranny helper spring

I have a rebuilt, short bell housing 930 that I purchased. It has the throw out lever and the adjustment lever, but no helper spring. I can not find any good pictures of what this assembly looks like for a circa 1977 930 tranny. Can someone upload a photo? The diagrams on our host's catalog are all for 915 throw out arms, which seem to have many more parts (bearings, clips, washers, etc). The pin that sticks out of my throw out arm (and the one on the tranny) are smooth. They don't look like any sort of clip goes on them to help hold the spring in place. Below is a photo of the throw out arm. Also, there is a notch in the adjustment lever for a spring (I think), but there seems to be no place on the under side of my tranny to attach the other end. I have uploaded a photo of the underside of the tranny below as well. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Notice the pin on the arm, what holds the helper (omega) spring on? I purhcased this spring from Pelican, but I think it is for a later 930 tranny.

Looks like you have the same 930 parts as my 87, except for the pin. Here's another angle that might help. You'll need to position everything and then load the spring. Well Heck! I just installed IE 8 and now I can't upload a picture. Look under my screen name or do a search. Last edited by A930Rocket; 04-04-2010 at 09:42 AM..

Thanks Dave, but I think the newer (long bell housing 930) throw out levers are different than mine. Your's seems to have some sort of bolt on the end and I'm guessing a receiver for the omega spring, mine just has a pin.

Here is an omega spring listed on our host's catalog that says it is for a 76-77 930, it appears wrap around the pins. Perhaps this is the correct part, but isn't there anything to hold the spring in place?

Here are photos of my 1977 930. The factory repair manual says 1978 and on are different from the earlier 930s

I added the small spring to my clutch (915 not 930) and also did not have any thing on the tranny to attach the spring so I drilled and tapped a hole and put a bolt in there my clutch arm had a hole for the spring in it
