Any recommendations on motor mounts? I'm considering WEVO's. Are they good?
Any other players? Thank you |

I used WEVO on my 911 and they worked fine. Pelican also has some of their own polyurethane mounts - cost less and should be less rubbery than stock. I am about to install them on my 930 - not sure if they will be too harsh or just right...

What is the real advantage in using harder mounts? What are the disadvantages?

With hard mounts you have less deflection. I used solid motor and trans mounts.
Felt more vibration and then my trans cross member pulled out and dropped. I believe related to the mounts. Now I use Wevo semi solid motor mounts and stock trans with no problems.

Wevo in back and stock up front. So far no problems and I don't notice vibration coming through.
Wevo can install their mounts on the tranny if you want, but you have send them the 930 mount.

Wevo blues in the back with stock up front, like David.
Maybe a very slight increase in vibration, but a pretty big difference in shifter feel. You don't get the weird pops and movement that feels like the engine is rolling around when you shift under boost. I have the Wevo blue DIY kit for the front, just haven't installed it yet.

Wevo blues front and back. Makes everything tight and steady with little to no vibration, noise issues.

I use Wevo blues in back and front. I would go with the blacks which are a little softer. Wevo can modify the trans mount and install the mounts.

Don't you risk damage to the engine since it is absorbing what the mounts were designed to do?
