RarlyL8 wastegate muffler
Just finished installing Brians (rarlyL8) wastegate muffler. After snapping all 4 studs then having to get them drilled out and replaced and then replacing the wastegate spring from a 1 bar to a .7bar, a 1 day project turned into a 1 week project. Damn life gets in the way.. lol..
Finally got to take it for a test drive after it sitting for a while. Well you know when the wastegate opens up now. Its not much louder over the zork tube, but adds a nice "extra" to it. LOL.. thanks again Brian for the excellent piece of engineering and welding. ![]() ![]() ![]() I did a hasty job in painting the housing. I know i should have painted it while it was off the wastegate but my friend that helped me had to leave so we had to reattach it before he left. lol..

Not much of a "muffler", ha!
Sounds like you had about every obstical possible. You should hear these with a stock muffler; pretty cool Jeckle/Hyde.

I've got the same dump pipe. It sounds good and it seemed to flow a lot better than the factory set up (on my '79 the wastegate was plumbed into the muffler).

Great photo. What kind/year exhaust is that?
Can someone annotate these letters for me with the correct names? ![]() Here are my guesses: A: Muffler B: Exhaust pipe (why is it so long and go across the back of the car?) C: Turbo peeking through D: ? Turbo drip tank? If so who makes this one? E, F: Heat exchangers G: Wastegate "muffler" H: Wastegate: factor? What year? Otherwise who makes it? I: Heat exchanger outlet not connected yet, goes to passenger compartment? Thanks! |

The drip tank looks like a GoingSuperFast one. I think I paid $80 for mine.

That system is one of mine.
The headers/exchangers are SSI, Y-pipe is custom, RarlyL8, Muffler is mine, RarlyL8, and exits the stock location, Waste gate is OEM Porsche, Dump pipe is mine, RarlyL8, Oil sump tank is Asian.
