After a tune-up she is misfiring...help!
Posting for a friend I helped to a tune up. Plugs, wires, cap/rotor and fuel filter. Now its misfiring and has a fuel smell. So, we did everything all over again in case something was missed and same results, all parts were bought from our host. Its an 82 Turbo, any thoughts?

Cheak the plugs. Pull one wire off at a time and see what one it is. Bad "new" plugs. Ive had it happen before on a few occasions.

Maybe the wrong plug wire order when you installed your new wires into the cap? Maybe one is crossed up? Check your firing order again.

we labeled all old wires before putting new ones in to prevent crossing, we then doubled checked firing order. Guess we can check for bad wires. How would you explain gas smell?

Check the basics !!!!
Distributor installed correctly. If you pulled the distributor are you sure you reinstalled it with #1 piston at TDC on the COMPRESION STROKE and not the EXHAUST STROKE. Plug Gap: .025 - .032 Firing Order: 1 6 2 4 3 5 Rotation: 930 distributor rotares counterclockwise ![]() ![]() Cole
