What great fun!

I got my first real 930 out today. What great fun. This thing is fast! It has SC cams and a K27HF turbo with GHK headers, some aftermarket exhaust, an aftermarket I/C and a 46mm wg.

I let my friend take a run at it (JPNovak here on the forum) and he enjoyed himself. I mean if 90mph+ in 2nd gear with rpm at 5k isn't fun...I don't know what is.

Good for you...I was doing the same today with mine. One of the last wild rides before winter sets in here in the Great White North.

I had mine out an hour before the NY snow. It runs so well in the cold air it smokes the tires when the boost hits in first. I let it rip and the RL8 headers and pipe sound mean.
With no heat though it gets old quick.

Heat is coming! I had mine out as well, man do the turbos love cold air!
Word from the shop is the drawings are approved and we cut metal next week. The cold is coming and with it the best driving air of the year!

Jocke.
I have a similar car in the works. It's an 84 carrera with a 3.3l turbo that has twin plugs, edis, converted to efi, k27hfs,twin wg's, m&k y pipe, rarelyl8 hooligan muffler, and custom cams with SC intake grind and 964 exhaust from Dougherty Racing. It should really go, go,go! I'm running a 915 with LSD, so that will be a lesson in finesse. Hopefully that will be on the road by Feb. The holiday season is creeping up, thus less time for the cars.

I took mine down to the grocery store this afternoon, and a stop at the local car parts store for some antifreeze. The young crack-head gang-banger came running out to the lot and says "is that a 911 Turbo?"? I said, "yes, otherwise known as a 930". He was about peeing his pants, and said to his buddy "do you think your Honda would beat it"? I just snickered and said nothing in town can beat it, let alone a freakin' Honda. He wanted to see the engine and thought the fan was the turbo.

Long story short, I couldn't resist on the way home to conveniently miss my turn and head out to the country twistys. About 50F out today, and the thing just screams as it sucks down that cool air. Too bad there wasn't a stray Honda or two to give me reason to strut my stuff. The sad part is, it's supposed to snow next weekend....which means one of two things: Super-cold turbo-sucking kick-ass air, or she goes to bed for the winter.

Don't do it! You'll only end up in FL again.

I like to "visit" snow, but not live in it. I've always resided in warm weather areas AZ, FL, and now TX. I have not had to ask "Would I be able to still have my car there?". That should be the acid test.
