I run the SC distributor in mine. I added a used MSD boost timing master when I did the last rebuild, along with an MSD 6AL, but the boost timing master was bad, so I am back to plain old SC distributor. I run 5 BTDC at idle, which puts me at around 27 BTDC at higher revs. I do know that if you try and retard the stock SC distributor, the car runs like crap down low. I don't think that is your boost issue. Is that a stock KKK turbo? I don't know much about the KKK's. I was going to try a stock 3LDZ, but RarlyL8 talked me out of it. The B-W T04B I have now is great, spools quickly and pulls through 6500. I also have some cheap OBX headers, which I think helps a bit.

Maybe one of the 930 guys will comment on the 7200 and it's boost characteristics.

On a stock 930 the K27-7200 will boost about 1000rpm sooner than the 3LDZ. Yes that is huge.

Tony, do any of those guys around here able to do a smoke test, I wonder if the late spool is due to a leak?

C.S Motorsports has one
