Clutch Upgrade Help

Hi guys;

Just came back from a nice top end run..Car felt real strong with mid 40's F.

While driving 915-box in 5th at approx. 65mph,,I down shifted to 4th for a blast and saw my revs jump at 4000rmps to 6000rpms...And the car didn't go.,,Not good..I didn't want to try that again...

My clutch has approx 22,000miles orignal clutch since I did my engine rebuild in 1994.
Maybe a clutch adjustment is only needed ( I wish) or if i upgrade should I go with KEP OR Sachs Sport....What parts are included in the pkge or parts I won't need..

Opinions are welcomed.

Thxs

Walt

Walt,

I love my KEP stage 1. For a 930 tranny, nothing special needs to be done other than to swap out the old for the new. Can't help you for the 915 tranny application.

Clutch slipping under load...not good. And at only 22,000 miles, I would be one pissed mo'fo. I experienced the same with the original setup and cured all ills with the KEP PP, new disk, and resurfaced flywheel. Of course, while I was in there I.....did a bunch of other crap.

Do indeed check your clutch adjustments, though (and not wanting to rain on your parade) normal clutch linkage wear usually results in the opposite (not being able to engage enough) vs. being too tight to where the clutch isn't releasing fully.

Thxs for the fast reply.....

Just text my wrench asked if I had some play..etc..etc...A little but I guess I was just doubting myself....

Will do a adjustment 1st..and see how it goes...if not...Oh well---..

GF--Was not happy to night...A little boring she said---she wanted to see flames...
Glad that she is not afraid of torque and top end..
