2.7 turbo?

Has anyone here done a 2.7 turbo conversion before?

I assume it'd be the same as a 911SC 3.0 conversion?

Same compression ratio of 8.5:1?

What would one do to strengthen the motor? Stronger fasteners? Twin plug? Lower compression forged JE's? EFI conversion?

Yes.
Search for DPHans. That is the most radical as I remember.
There are others as well.

Yes, DPHans has made a nice twin turbo 2.7l.
Think he used a 928 CIS head to have 2 extra injectors for fuel enrichment on top.

Hi all..
Yes I still have my DP 935. But I have over rewed the engine. a massive over rew.
So the car is standing in my garage until I have time to strip it down.
To build a engine on the 2,7 base is easy.
1. Lower compression.
2. Steel bolts / cylinder heads
3. a lot of fuel. No way to use original fuelhead. example, 928S/ MB 560

God luck.

Wow, how much boost is he running on that 2.7? 1.4 - 2.0 bar?

Awesome car! Huge respect for people who think outside the box and try something different!

Hi.

I have been running this car for 4 seasons now. Every track day I was happy that the engine will stay alive. Ok this time I had Full speed on 4th gear. just to trow in the 5th gear,,, wow I got the third gear. black stripes in the mirror. My intension was to pass a F 430..I ¨-was beside him when this was happened.

Sometimes I go for 1,4 bar in boost /This with 50 % Ethanol
But I have better lap times with 0,9 bar,,

Hans, have you had the car on the dyno?

I'd be interested to know how much power your motor is putting out!

How much HP can each turbo flow? Do you know the A/R of the Turbo's hot housing?

I've always wanted to try out two T3 60 Trim turbo's (32-35lb/min compressors) with 0.48 A/R turbine housings. I know top end power will be limited by the smaller turbine housings, but the bost response would be amazing! Even if it was limited to 400HP, it'd be a very nice setup

Sorry. I don't like the dynos, I just drive and If it feels Ok for me, Iam happy.
My small turbos TD04/12 can give max 480hp. I think I have 375-400hp with 0,9-1.0 boost.
My dyno is on a race track. on a long straightaway I have no problem to follow GT3s.

Be very careful working with that material! The inhalation of asbestos fibers can cause serious illnesses, including malignant lung cancer!

DPHANS, you use mag case right?

Did you prepped it specifically for turbocharging like shuffle pinning or something?

I'm sort of interested in this subject as I'm building a 2.5liter short stroke turbo engine myself (66mm crank, 90mm RS P&C's, S cams, CNC ported and twin-plugged heads 40/37mm, custom ITB dual-plenum intakes, VEMS EFI etc). Just in the middle of taking a decision regarding case. Obvious move would be early aluminium case but these are very rare and very expensive. Seeing a T holding up so well makes using mag case tempting as my car will see track only occasionally (I have a race-car for that).
