CV Joint assembly question

so i took a bunch of pics and thought i got the pic i needed but i guess not...

i am putting the CV joints back together and i have them put back right, but what part faces the INSIDE of the axle against the washer

flat


or raised

I would venture to say that the surface with the nice flat side goes against the snap ring.

Anyone?

that seems to be how i mentally remember it when i took them apart for some reason, just trying to verify before i put it all back together

Cv

On my car, the raised side is against the conical washer, flat side to the snap ring. Also, the groove cut on the outside housing was toward the outside of the axle assembly on both ends.
