Returning turbo oil to drain plug

Is anyone successfully returning turbo oil to the drain plug on a 930? If so, could I please get details of the adaptor used. Thinking of doing this for a gt35 set up on a car without scavenge pump interested in your thoughts.

Try a search here on this forum, I have seen it mentioned here previously, but cannot recall the answer. GL.

Is this with or without a sump plate? For my SC using a K27, I used AN-10 from the turbo outlet to the pan with a 90 degree -10 elbow (-10 male on one end and male NPT on the other) with an NPT to metric adapter (reducer bushing) for the sump plate. I don't recall the adapter size but the outer diameter is the same thread as the oil drain plug and is available from BAT.inc. You shouldn't need as large a hose for a GT35 as there is much reduced oil flow.

Not on a 930, but on a turbo 3.2 with stock oil pump. K27 Turbo has 10,000 plus miles on it and shows no sign of wear or significant shaft play.

Did this on my twin turbo 3.4 running T3/T4s and was not successful. Oil would backup and seep past the chra and turbine piston ring and into the turbine housing. I believe this was caused by the oil level in the hoses would be at the level in the case at best and at higher rpm there was higher oil supplied to turbos. My turbos were mounted on the side but not very high.

I eventually installed a TurboWerx Exa-pump (electric) and returned the oil from turbos to the drain. No problems since.

Plus one on that... For some reason a few seem to be successful in returning to the case, but not me. I tried several different ways and nothing worked, so I added the electric scavange pump and no problems since.

Koenig,
Could you describe how you plumbed in the electric oil pump? Any other pointers that would be useful to know? I'm installing a turbo on my 3.2 engine, and do not want to drop the engine to change the cams for an engine driven pump.
Thanks.

Jerry Woods made a custom sump plate for my 3.5 turbo motor. I've put about 9,000 mi. on the motor with no issues.
