Question Removing Turbo - - Can't scratch my 4th Nut?

I'm attempting to remove the turbo so that I can have it sent off and ceramic coated [hot side]. K27 HF that i had installed at a shop 4k miles ago...

Am having trouble getting to the final 14mm nut on top in the Front/Driver location. I've got B&B header system and have removed 3/4 of the allen head bolts [come up through the bottom].

Any advice would be greatly appreciated!! SEE PIC:

The header flange or the turbo flange?
I used an extension with a swivel joint and a six point socket. A shorty ratchet hand wrench is also helpful.

I got it by removing the other 3 and rotating the turbo about 15-degree ccw. It's off now!

Why the ceramic coating? I think they are titanium wheels. Does the coating add any weight? Is there any chance of misbalance?

I believe i'm only coating the hot-side housing [inside and out]...

A short wrench and lots of patience, 1/8 of a turn at a time - at the most - forget the coating.

IMO, I don't see the benefit of the coating, or a blanket on a turbo; I rather let it breath naturally.

The benefit to me/the car would be getting the heat out from under the bumper. Mine gets hot and has melted a reflector or two...

I've heard that before, definitely the exception not the rule, something was changed under there to generate/trap that heat; FYI, my 78 still has the OEM bumper/reflector AND shield... I added a pieces of fire blanket between the shield and the valance JIC, they get hot but never so hot to melt anything even here in Alabama during track events... I've seen air fins installed from under the turbo directing air up to vent the area; I believe Turbocraft offers one.

when the car is moving, i don't have a problem. it's the stop-n-go stuff down here in new orleans that let's the heat accumulate...

The high tech aluminized heat barrier cloth works wonders. I have used it on 3 of my cars now. It is expensive but easy to cut/fit and makes a huge difference. The more HP you develop, the more you need something like this.

I got some "crow foot" open end wrench ends that fit onto a 3/8 ratchet or extension. This allowed me to get to all the nuts much more easily, and using the ratchet I could click away a notch or two at a time until I got them free.
