930 Handle door lock problem will not lock

Hello all, had my door handles powder coated refitted them.

However now the central locking will not work. I also cannot lock the doors either now with the key in the lock. I get a movement on the system to try and lock but will not work on either key or central locking on the flob.
I may have missed something on refit?

Any ideas people thanks for any help.

its a simple system. i don't know that the handle and the lock would have anything to do with each other. the actuator is inside the panel. did you have to take off the panel to remove the handle? maybe you tightened the screw on the knob that you can turn to tight? bot i don't know.

As J930 says, it is a fairly simple system. Take a good look at it, and I bel you can figure out how it is supposed to work. I just reassembled the doors on my Carrera 3.0 - no central lock.

One og te things you can mess up, is not getting the prong on the Dor handle to fit in between the two prongs on the door lock mechanism.

I used my iPhone and was able to stick it in there in lack of a boroscope. by studying the pics, I figured it out.

Good luck

I have taken my handles and doors apart about 5 times, the handle has nothing to do with the locking system...

HOWEVER

i had a similar problem when trying to lock my car, i removed the entire lock mechanism from the inside of the door, soaked in brake clean over night, then in silicone over night, and locks have worked great for a year...

they tend to get all gummed up and nasty and mine were sticking pretty bad.

I am not sure about this door handle fit, in between the two prongs on the door lock anyone got any pictures to help please?
I just refitted the handle in the door and that was it?
Maybe that is my mistake?

if you remove your door panel and look in there with a light you will be able to see it right away, pretty self explanatory. Make sure the door handle is between the two prongs sticking up, FIELD GOAL style

When I did this, I had a similar situation. My problem, however, was that I was attempting to lock the door without it being shut. Once I figured that out, there was no problem...

Don't know about the rest of you, but I cannot lock my doors unless they are shut

I had ago today I think I need a picture it still will not lock with a key or on the flob button.

I could not see the FIELD GOAL style the only prong type things are one on the back of the key barrel, and then one inside the door itself which is pushed forward by the trigger.

I think if they are two things mention? I think once I see a picture it will fall into place I hope?
Thanks for any help, I know the central locking works it goes to lock I think when I have been trying to fit the door lock?

Update I only have one prong not two I think, question could I have the adjuster ? the bit that screws into the barrel in the wrong position?
When I pull the trigger it pushes the part forward with the one prong? Does it have to line up a certain way?
Sorry for all of this its hard to put down into words.

Post pictures of what you've got. And how you are putting it together.

That's going to make it easier to help.

Update, central locking goes to lock then uplocks itself, cannot lock doors with keys either.
I do have more pictures if needed. Picture below from my car door taken today.

I know the loom is in the wrong position for now.

Looking at the pictures, I think something has come uncliped ? Could it be the part, that opens the door with the spring on it in the picture?

Does your car have a central locking switch in the console? I would check there first. I think if you disconnect that switch from the harness, you'll at least be able to lock the car manually with the key.

Yes it does have a console button which does the same as before still no joy.
I am hoping someone, will spot something in the pictures that is not right or out of place.
I may have fitted it wrong, or something has slipped off a clip or bracket?

Thinking about it could this be the problem, I have put a red circle around the area should the end of it clip on to something or not ? I may have forgotten to clip the end of it to something or it slipped off?

I had to borrow one or two of the pictures from here hope it was ok?
