Wevo Ohlins shocks
These bad boys showed up today. They're replacing the Bilstein RSR revalved shocks I've been running for the past few years. A single adjustable inverted shock (coil spring goes on the bottom). I plan on adding a helper spring to deal with the squat in the future. By the time I got them on it was snowing, figures. So a test drive is off in the future.

The one trick pair of Ohlins! Are both rebound and compression adjustable? Where are the valves for filling shocks with nitrogen gas? How much did you pay for those shocks?

A single adjustment for both (I believe). Not nitrogen. $1490.00 per pair. I bought them directly from Wevo.
I've been using an older version of these shocks on my '75 Carrera race car (street legal) for the past 5-6 yrs. At the track I shaved 2 sec. off my 2:00 minute lap times compared to the Bilstein RSR re valved shocks. The Wevos were more responsive to the track undulations, i.e. better stick. It was also advantageous to be able to fine tune the shocks at the different tracks. For street use I dial in a softer setting. I went for a short ride in the turbo today. I'll drive it at the initial setting until I get use to it, then start playing with different settings. It was in the mid 30's. The turbo was happy but I doubt the Michelin TB's got warm so I didn't push it. Warm weather is still a few months out.

Wow, those are slick looking shocks and I'm sure worth every penny. Ohlins are premier precision machined shocks...I run nitrogen charged Ohlins on my old vintage Husqvarna dirt bikes and there really isn't anything much better for my application anyway.
One of these days I need to switch my focus from power plant to suspension....just another slippery slope to travel once again. My suspension is 'ok' but that's about as far as it goes. I wonder if a guy can take out a second mortgage on a car?

I started the other way, a very well set up car with not enough power. I run the Smart Racing Fox front struts on the race car. Nitrogen adjustable shocks with remote canisters, and adjustable spindle height. I'd like to put the same set up in the turbo.
