RUF specia l@ $96K on ebay
Already at $96,100 with 5 days to go. 1987 RUF 930 BTR lightweight, item #200963187712. Great color with only 10K miles. Lots of provenance and special race stuff but with the pretty standard 374HP ( to get it past the EPA DOT ? ) & the RUF 5spd.

Description says water cooled front brakes. What is that supposed to mean?
No pics of the motor, is it CIS? |

exactly what I was thinking...plus anyone can get a friend to bid on their own ad. The RUF wheels are the new generation(without the step on the lip). I wonder what the original wheels were and why they are not on the car?

I was leery, guess I'm pessimistic. It went from $27k to $96K in 2 days, and no bidder i.d.'s. I always look at the bid history to see what percentage the high bidder has with the seller. A few weeks back there was a '73S coupe, starting price $95k. The only bidder had a 100% bid history with the seller.
I'm not knocking car or price, just seems a bit odd.

Super lightweight? It would be a lot lighter without those wheels.

Water cooled front brakes probably means a misting system, which is about the same level of technology as the windshield washer system, except less effective. ![]()

Huh? It's Still on ebay, 87 RUF 930 ( item # 200963187712 ) with 4 days to go but stalled @ $96,100. If sold ( and he forgot to take it off eBay ), that is near what he wanted for it about a month ago.

Actually I have photos of the car with different wheels on it ( not the RUF wheels as in ebay photo ). JFairman: I also have photos of the engine bay. I can email photos ( he sent 35 photos ) if anyone is interested, just PM me.

Not crazy about the color or the over bite front bumper no engine shots, the Recaros are meh...not worth anywhere close to $100K

Completely unique car. For the right person it could be considered cheap at 100k

Being "unique" may be special to someone, but the market decides what a fair price is. 100K +
dollars seems like a LOT for this example. 10K on a track (if that's where its spent it's life) means those are very 'ruf' miles, not street miles. Notice also something consistent about the documentation photos...you don't get to see all of what's there. Could you even get this approved to drive on a US road?(in its current condition)
