Skillet83,

I'm pretty sure I saw that car a local dealer in the Indianapolis area. He's a good guy and that's a very nice looking car. Really nice interior and it sounds great, too. Congrats. If you don't mind, I'm curious to know who did the PPI as I'm trying to ferret out the best local shops... Shoot me a PM if you'd prefer.

Take a look at the Craigslist of Birmingham, AL. There is a 1979 930 that has been posted for a while, asking 35k. I don't know anything about the car but it's not too far from you. I think he claims it's Euro...

Thanks for the comments. Ronnie, I agree, Fuchs are needed and will be addressed. Just does not look right to me. Nuge, you are correct, car is from Indy. I used Euro Motorworks to do the inspection and leak down. They were very easy to work with, easy to communicate with and more than timely. They are beyond thorough in the inspection. Received a very detailed inspection report. Not as knowledgeable as I would like to be about these cars, but do not believe they will miss anything. They actually called me several times during the inspection to update. Nice touch.

And as you had mentioned, the sellers were fantastic to work with and very accommodating during the inspection process. One thing I have noticed, under boost in 1st gear, back end breaks loose. Is that common? The 86 I owned would not. Has pilots with some decent tread left. Pretty sure I am running 1 bar as well.

^^ Thanks. I've heard good things about Euro Motorworks. Also, if you want to sell those wheels, you could easily sell them back to the place where you purchased the car. He's always on the lookout for those type of wheels. I've helped him locate a set in the past. Those wheels look good on your car and would look even better if you lowered it just a tad, but having a set of Fuchs around is always a good idea...

Nice car, congrats.

Personally, while I love Fuchs....those wheels look hot. I wouldn't change anything. Are they real Speedlines?

Not to sound uninformed, but how do I figure out the correct set of fuchs for my car? Need help. Another pic attached. http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1384223018.jpg

As Nick noted above, your 1988 would have come with 7X16 fronts and 9X16 rears. There are many threads in the 911 forum about how to tell the difference between real Fuchs and copies. One thing you will find is that the 9" wheels are very pricey (lots of people want them for other 911 models) - good condition rears will likely run you around $2K for the pair.

Congrats Gasman. Beautiful car. Hope you post more pics. I worked on the wheels tonight with Mothers Mag and Aluminum polish. Used the foam polish head with my cordless drill. They looked like mirrors when complete. Am having a blast. http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1384486685.jpg

This is addictive isn't it? Looks like you might be keeping the wheels after all . :D

Congrats Doug, really like the new car, love the ice cream scoop headlight rings.
S83, I'd keep those rims if I were you.

don't be in too much of a hurry to change out those wheels...they look fab!!!!

Tt surgeon 11-15-2013 06:22 PM

I'd really keep those wheels, ESP if they are 17s.

Ronnie's.930 11-15-2013 06:29 PM

Hey, Tt surgeon, do you like those wheels (maybe you should make him an offer so the OP could put the money toward the wheels that would make his car look, handle and ride better)? :D
